After regaining interest in hip-hop
music the musician Claes ”The Swede” Haglund decided
to produce a hip-hop record in a different way. The work took one
year and is now finished, and the distribution starts in the first
month of 2007.
The ambition has been to unite different hip-hop cultures from around
the world giving it a swedish touch. Claes has done all the beats
on the cd and adapted them to the artists’ different conditions
and wishes.
The work with the album has been done entirely over the internet.
The artists who have been chosen come from Florida, Georgia, Californa,
and Philadelphia in The USA and from Lagos Nigeria and Kingston
Jamaica.
The common thing is their ability to mediate their lyrics from their
local traditions, and now for the first time being brought together
by the Swede. The CD is a cool mix of everything from hardcore hip-hop
to reggaerap, reggaeton, pure party hiphop and partly some ironic
inlays to the hiphop scene.
Artists like Greenie, Baby Lion, G.A.T, Boondoxxx, and CRAZE made
their contribution to this cd and it sure has some cool grooves,
great lyrics and danceable beats.
